The Beginning of Our Story

I was on a Euro trip with a friend when I matched with Allegra on Hinge in Greece. We met for ice cream by the sea in Athens and something just clicked. It was spontaneous and effortless, a rare connection we both knew was worth following. I canceled my next flight to Budapest, booked a last-minute Airbnb, and spent the following days exploring Greece with her.

A Love That Spanned Continents

Eventually, I had to return to the US but we committed to each other and started a long-distance relationship that spanned cities and continents. Allegra moved from London to Milan to Athens; I moved from New York back to my hometown of Austin, where we got married and now are building our life together.

The Moment VIOS Was Born

The idea for VIOS started in a grocery store in the US. Allegra, who is half Greek and half Italian, couldn't find a single olive oil brand she knew on the shelf, and none of them listed where or when the olives were harvested. That moment sparked a simple question: “What if we brought real, traditional Greek olive oil, like the kind she grew up eating, to the US?”

What VIOS Means to Us

So we created VIOS to do just that, to bring the kind of olive oil that would be served at a Greek family table: quality, real, and honest. Our oils are cold-pressed in small batches from Koroneiki olives grown on family farms in Crete and crafted with transparency from harvest to bottle.

VIOS (βίος) means “life” in Greek. To us, it’s about living with intention, choosing health, quality, and tradition. It's a celebration of the life we found together and the shared values of authenticity, health, and joy that we now bring to your table.
